We missed our First Sunday of the Month Group Ride for November yesterday but we’re making up for it next weekend– and if the weatherman is right, we’ll be enjoying some warmer-than-seasonal riding weather. The first 25 scooterists to RSVP for the ride should arrive fueled up, well rested and alert, and should bring a bottle of water and a snack bar for pit stops. We ask that everyone come equipped with a mask and observe proper socially distancing protocols when off their scooters. Riders shall meet at 11am at the clubhouse (Revolution Moto) parking lot, with kickstands promptly up at 11:30. The route is a combination of easy-paced highway riding along Highway 1 and Bodega Hwy, scenic backroad twisties outside Valley Ford and Tomales, and everything in between. Total ride time shall be a short and sweet 64 miles and a total 2-1/2 hours in the saddle. This month’s ride is designed for EVERYONE– from the total newbs to the advanced beginners to intermediates to seasoned riders — all are encouraged to RSVP for this month’s group ride. Those interested in washing their bikes and checking their tire pressure before the day’s launch may do so from 10:30-11:15. All washing materials shall be provided, courtesy of Revolution Moto.
This month, the PostMods will be hosting a VIP– Danny Patrick– hailing from the Pacific Northwest (Portland, OR) and RevMoto’s Regional Sales Representative for Vespa/Piaggio scooters. Let’s do our best to impress him with our jaw-dropping NorCal countryside, as riders roll westward by way of West College Ave, bearing a right then a left onto Guerneville Road and riding out of town then thru Graton. We’ll wiggle our way to Occidental, take the scenic route to Bodega, then hang a communal left onto Highway 1. Hanging a right off the highway and toward some fresh new backroads asphalt, we’ll roll past Dillon Beach and into Tomales around 1pm, where we’ll take a 30-45 minute snack/coffee break from our saddles.
We’ll mount up and roll north along Hwy 1, past Bodega then head inland toward Sebastopol where the PostMods will spring for a fuel-up for every rider in the group. Occidental Road will return us safely to Santa Rosa no later than 3:30pm that afternoon.
Don’t forget to bring a bit of cash for our monthly raffle drawing — late fall is upon us, when the fair weather opportunities to ride get a bit spotty. This month’s $5 raffle shall be a Battery Tender Jr. brand battery charger to keep your trusty scoot’s battery properly topped off all year.
