IT’S WILDFIRE SEASON.
Please note that local firefighters and first responders are battling the Napa Valley Glass Fire at the time of this newsletter’s publication. We are sensitive to the volatile nature of Northern California’s wildfire season, and will keep every RSVP’d rider informed and up-to-date of any changes, route updates or cancellations.
THE POSTMODS ARE KICKING OFF
THE FALL RIDING SEASON!!
9:15am – 1pm
Sunday, October 4th
This weekend marks our First Sunday of the Month Group Ride for October and with any luck, we’ll still be able to get outside to enjoy some well-deserved Fall weather. The first 25 scooterists to RSVP for the ride should arrive fueled up, fully caffeinated and alert, and should bring a bottle of water and a snack bar for pit stops. We ask that everyone come equipped with a mask and observe proper socially distancing protocols when off their scooters. Riders shall meet no later than 9:15am in the clubhouse (Revolution Moto) parking lot, with kickstands promptly up at 9:30.
We’re Dusting Off a Classic…
The revised route is a combination of faster-paced highway riding along River Road and Westside Road, slower-paced backroad twisties like West Dry Creek Road, and everything in between. Total ride time shall be about 60 miles and about 2-1/2 hours in the saddle. This month’s ride is still intended for the more adventurous yet safe for any skill level– advanced beginners to intermediates to seasoned riders are encouraged to RSVP for this weekend’s group ride.
Riders will roll out of town by way of Old Redwood Hwy, bearing a left onto River Road and riding westward to Westside Road. We’ll scoot along the Russian River until the outskirts of Healdsburg, when we’re gonna hang a left of West Dry Creek Road for some truly breathtaking scenic twisties. We’ll roll into the parking lot of Dry Creek General store around 10:30-11am and post up for a 45-minute respite from our saddles. Everyone is encouraged to grab a coffee & a ridiculous blueberry scone, grab a take-out salad or sandwich for an impromptu picnic on the General Store’s ample porch, or simply bask in the company of your fellow scooterists.
After our break, we’ll scoot thru downtown Healdsburg and take to the east side of the Russian River as we ride southward for home. We’ll plan to have the group safe and sound and back to Santa Rosa no later than 1pm this Sunday, before the air quality index peaks and the afternoon winds kick up another daily dose of the routine smoke and wildfire doom and gloom.
IT’S WILDFIRE SEASON.
