I PLAN TO RIDE TO SAN FRANCISCO AND BACK!

    RESERVE SCOOTER TRANSPORT TO/FROM SF

The parade ride is free and open to the entire scootering community, from the adventurous scootering newbie to advanced riders and every avid scooterist in between. The parade route consists of in-city riding, complete with the usual Sunday traffic congestion, through the Presidio, across Pacific Heights and Polk Gulch to North Beach. We’ll point our scooters toward the bridge, riding past Fisherman’s Wharf and the Marina to the Golden Gate Bridge. Many riders have never braved the GG Bridge on a scooter, yet all will be pleasantly surprised how low-stress and truly majestic the crossing really is. I have shepharded DOZENS of group riders across the bridge since 2012 and nearly every rider but one (looking at you, Ting!) has reported that they’d do it again without hesitation.

Following our Presidio > Pac Hts > North Beach loop, we’ll roll thru the Marina en route to the Golden Gate Bridge.  Crossing the bridge as a formidable group of scooters will be slow-going and safe for any adventurous rider.  From the 150cc Vespa to the 500cc maxi-scooter, this windy 1-1/2 mile span can seem daunting to the uninitiated, but I can confidently assure everyone an overwhelmingly positive experience for riders and passengers alike.

The group will climb Hwy 101 thru the Robin Williams Tunnel past Sausalito and exit toward Mill Valley. We’ll roll along Miller Ave, bearing a left onto Montford Ave to Molino and onto Edgewood, traveling toward Muir Woods’ Panoramic Highway.

The parade will roll past Muir Woods National Monument and thru Mt. Tamalpais State Park until Panoramic Highway meets Pacific Coast Highway 1.  We’ll hang a left toward San Francisco passing Muir Beach on our return to the City by the Bay. We’ll remain on local streets, riding under 101 and into Sausalito.

Mounting southbound 101 and crossing the bridge into San Francisco, the group will complete the 50-mile route as we park along Clement Street in the Richmond District.  There are a number of restaurants, a few pubs and bars if you’d like to down a pint after the ride, and scooterists are free to disband or grab a bite to eat in smaller break-out groups at this point.
