We’ve lots of events and activities to discuss this month but first, a quick request for volunteers.
My current role as the club’s Director of Membership & Recruitment has recently taken a back seat to my lead role at Revolution Moto. Owning and operating one’s very own Vespa shop can be a daunting and time-intensive undertaking, and the club needs your help. We are looking for scooterists, members and nonmembers alike, to help create daily, weekly and monthly content for our social media (Instagram and Facebook) as well as our monthly / semi-monthly newsletters. Your input could be as simple as sharing scootering-themed photos of your daily ride in and around San Francisco, articles you think others may find interesting, or events which your like-minded fellow scooterists might want to add to their busy social calendars. Are you a writer in search of a creative outlet or side project? Want to help collect and broadcast our content? Join the team of volunteers!

Hello fellow scooterists!
This month’s LSMGR is bound for Alice’s Restaurant in Woodside, a meandering 40 miles of southbound backroads and redwood-lined twisties down Highway 1. The ride will kick off at Devil’s Teeth, where we can get our fill of coffee, beignets and egg bowls beforehand. Arrive early for club announcements and caffeination before the pre-ride safety meeting at 9:45am sharp.
Kickstands up at 10am on the nose following a group photo for the PostMods archives. We’ll roll south along the water thru Pacifica and Half Moon Bay, hanging a hard left inland at San Gregorio State Beach onto La Honda Road. La Honda (HWY 84) then carves north wherein we’ll be posting up for lunch at Alice’s Restaurant among the trees and alongside fellow 2-wheeled travelers.
We’ll be posting up at Alice’s by noon, and after a wait to be seated (no reservations taken) we’ll plan for a 2pm departure for home. Once we’ve all saddled up, we’ll head north toward Half Moon Bay and then return along Hwy 1 up thru Pacifica by the same route we came. We’ll plan to return to San Francisco by 3pm.
At each monthly group ride throughout 2019, the club is offering a small raffle prize for all who join in on that Sunday’s ride. Each ticket enters you in a chance to win a brand new RAM Mount phone mount, complete with mirror mount, retail value of $65.
$5 per ticket, 5 tix for $20
Need more PostMods in your life? Can’t make it to this month’s LSMGR and need a scooter-fix?
Join us for some scooter-themed “chewing and chatting” over delicious beefy bowls of ramen! Member and nonmembers, fans and friends of the PostMods Scooter Squad are all invited out for ramen and scootering community chatter over some amazing ramen at Ushi Taro next Tuesday April 23rd at 7pm. Join us for dinner and drinks at 1382 9th Avenue, San Francisco. BE WARNED- IF YOU’VE GOT A BEEF WITH BEEF, THIS MAY NOT BE THE MEETUP FOR YOU!
Greetings fellow scooterists,
Join us for next week’s after-work “MEAT-UP” as club members, scootering friends & fans convene at WesBurger n’ More down in the Mission at 7pm Tuesday March 5th. We’ll be chewing & chatting, strategizing & scheming about our upcoming 2019 events, including this summer’s scavenger hunt, this fall’s camping trip & potential weekend-long rally in wine country, & most pressing— the 2019 Vespa raffle goes live that evening! There’s no ride before or after the meet-up, so regardless of weather arrive warm & dry that evening in an Uber or Lyft. No need to RSVP, just drop by 2240 Mission Street around 7pm & say hello, nosh a kick-ass burger with friends, & join us for some scintillating scootering conversation!
Can’t make it that evening? Want to carve a few backroad twisties on a (fingers crossed!!) warm sunny Sunday afternoon instead? Join us for our Last Sunday of the Month Group Ride as we cross the Golden Gate Bridge en route to Stinson Beach on Sunday March 31st. We’ll meet in the parking lot of the SF Columbarium at 12:30, conduct a brief safety meeting for all participants at 12:45 & take off promptly at 1pm bound for the bridge. And while it is our monthly ride coordinators’ hopes to make it as far as Stinson Beach that afternoon, we shall remain acutely aware of the time & will plan to turn around at 3pm at the halfway point of the ride. We’ll then point our scoots toward home, making certain that the group is safely back across the bridge well by 5pm that afternoon.
Once again, it is the PostMods pledge to every group rider who joins in on the Sunday fun in 2019 – we shall do our absolute best to stay true to every ride’s beginning & end time!!!
RSVPs required for the March 31st group ride.
Please respond via email no later than Friday March 29th at 5pm or find this and all of our events on our Facebook page so we can plan accordingly for the group’s size.
LOOKING DOWN THE ROAD
As many of you may already know, along with the help of fellow scooterists and PostModsters Rob Shaddock and Anya Chambers I am finally buying my very own Vespa dealership, Revolution Moto, up in Wine Country’s Santa Rosa. More details will follow soon, but please save the date for the weekend of April 5th-7th for our big RevMoto 2.0 Reboot Party. The latest Vespa models shall be on display along with a silkscreening station creating commemorative t-shirts, food trucks and live music, all while Brooklyn-based famed graffiti artist Adam Fujita creates a one-of-a-kind mural on Friday night. We’re planning a scooter friendly drive-in movie night on Saturday evening & kicking off a “PostMods North” FIRST Sunday of the Month Group Ride on April 7th. Mark your calendars everyone, & stay tuned for all the deets and updates as the party planning unfolds!!
Hope to see you all in March. Ride safely & stay dry everyone!

Good morning fellow scooterists,
It takes no more than a glance outside to be reminded that we are still deep into the wet wintery weather here in the Bay Area. Join us as we defy the drizzle and plan our first PostMods Group Ride for 2019!
As the Oscars are on February 24th (the last Sunday of the month), we’ve decided to forego the red carpet & schedule our monthly ride a week earlier. While the PostMods Social Club is still on the hunt for a new clubhouse, we’ll be meeting up at 10am sharp outside the Murphy Windmill at the western edge of Golden Gate Park. The MANDATORY pre-ride safety meeting shall commence at 10:15 sharp, every rider must be present to ride with the group. Kickstands up at 10:30 sharp en route to Pacifica by way of the Great Highway, then a short 20-minute easy-going stint along beautiful Hwy 1, with lunch at Nick’s Rockaway from 11-12:30. We’ll be winding our way back home along Skyline Blvd into SF’s Mission District, enjoying a Sunday ride with very little highway time. This ride will be the perfect 2019 riding season kick-off for new riders, inexperienced scooterists & those who would like to build their skills & confidence at speeds reaching 50–55mph in a safe & seasoned group. It shall be a quick lunch outing and a gorgeous scenic ride along the coast, affording many commuter scooterists a rare opportunity to really get a taste for what you & your scooter can do in less than 4 short hours on a Sunday!
Thank you to all of you who filled out last month’s 10-minute questionnaire survey. Your feedback was immensely informative, and every effort shall be made to keep many of this year’s rides short & sweet yet with an exciting route & destination. Most importantly, we shall be much, MUCH more diligent in keeping the rides on schedule and ending on time. Thank you again for your feedback, it’s very important to us & we’ve listened.
Excited to see you all out there in just 9 days!
